The Mellow Vélo Ride is a closed road cycle event aimed at those riders wishing to enjoy closed roads and the company of other cyclists without the pressure of any competitive element. The Mellow Vélo Ride is NOT timed. It is necessary to ride at a minimum of 12.5mph average speed, including any stops made, to stay ahead of the Pace Vehicle behind which the roads will re-open. You can ride your own choice of bike including tandems and trikes. This event is ideal for fundraising.
There are 3 pit-stops on the route and if you think you might have bitten off more than you can chew there is a possibility of taking a shorter route of 56 miles back to the HQ.
Please note that all riders have to be past Pondersbridge by 16.00hrs otherwise you will have to take the short route at the deviation.
